Texas Legislature Honors TIPRO on Association's 75th Anniversary

Austin, Texas – Before the 87th Texas Legislature adjourned Sine Die on Monday, May 31, lawmakers passed House Resolution 1311, filed by state Representative Charles "Doc" Anderson, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO). As articulated by House Resolution 1311, for three-quarters of a century, TIPRO has been a champion for the independent producers and royalty owners of the Lone Star State's oil and gas industry. The following statement can be attributed to Ed Longanecker, president of TIPRO:

"Since its founding in 1946, TIPRO has been a leading voice at all levels of government for independent oil and natural gas producers and mineral owners in Texas. Throughout the organization's history, TIPRO's membership has comprised of industry trailblazers, revolutionary innovators and multi-generational executives that have fought to stand up to protect the ability to explore and produce oil and natural gas in the Lone Star State. Through the highs and lows over the last seven decades for the Texas oil and natural gas industry, TIPRO has been instrumental in ensuring fair regulation and management of domestic development of Texas' natural resources.

TIPRO is proud to have a foundation rooted in heritage that includes many influential leaders for the Texas oil and gas industry, including George Mitchell known as the "father of fracking" and countless other pioneers who've helped expand drilling activities and output in Texas' oil and gas basins.

Today, TIPRO is one of the largest oil and natural gas associations in the nation representing both producers and royalty owners, and its nearly 3,000 members collectively produce almost 90 percent of the oil and natural gas in Texas and also own millions of acres in mineral interests across the state.
